The FreeFlight Systems RANGR 978 Transceiver is a single box solution – a rule-compliant ADS-B Out system combined with the added benefit of ADS-B In weather and traffic data. Interfaces with certified panel mounted displays or compatible tablet devices with WiFi module.

The XVR/G automatically synchronizes with legacy transponders without the need for additional pilot interaction, and is part of our AML STC for most aircraft types.

FreeFlight Systems designs solutions that enable and support the global NextGen airspace transformation. Our ADS-B systems have accumulated thousands of hours of operation across a broad spectrum of aircraft platforms.

David wanted ADS-B In and Out in a single-box, so he selected the FreeFlight RANGR Blue ADS-B Transceiver as his all-in-one ADS-B solution. David said his RANGR-XVR installation for his 182 was, “incredibly easy and affordable,” and that his Blue Box “has completely changed my feelings of safety and VFR / IFR; I can see traffic before ATC calls it.”

Nelson needed an all-in-one ADS-B solution for his PA-31 that integrated with ForeFlight, and wanted to leave his aircraft’s dual TDR-90 transponders as is. He selected the RANGR solution after talking with a number of avionics dealers in Texas, Illinois, California and Oregon, “…they all advised that FreeFlight had the best 978 product line and was the best to deal with in terms of warranty and paperwork certification.” And his transponders? “The RANGR system allowed me to keep the redundancy and do no panel mods.” With his RANGR-XVR system, Nelson now has complete ADS-B capability in a single box, and less cockpit clutter – his portable ADS-B In device is no longer needed.

Pete was contemplating replacing one of his radios with another product, but was having difficulties justifying associated costs – map and database update fees. After reviewing costs and capability, Pete selected the RANGR-XVR as his ADS-B system of choice. “With FreeFlight, it’s really been a no-brainer, and I really like the WiFi because I can use it with my iFlyGPS app on my iPhone or iPad.”
